Unique Ingredient Development
Health foods are made with a wide range of ingredients, but it is not possible to create a highly unique health food by using existing ingredients in conventional ways.
We thoroughly investigate ingredients to identify ways to further unleash their potential or to unlock as-yet unknown functions as we take on the challenge to develop unique ingredients.
One example that demonstrates our approach is taking ingredients that would usually be discarded and utilizing them in upcycled food. Apart from discovering new uses for existing ingredients, we also search for little-known ingredients that are not yet sold in Japan and explore ways to incorporate them into products.

Nannochloropsis
Nannochloropsis is a genus of extremely small marine algae (phytoplankton) with a diameter of just 2 to 5 microns. This genus is a rich source of EPA compared to other types of algae.
Nannochloropsis contains more than just EPA, as it is a superfood with 61 different nutrients. It is used for supplements and health foods, as well as for regular food products. This ingredient has even been incorporated into school meals in recent years, and it has gained attention for its eco-friendliness and sustainability.

Açaí
This ingredient is the star of the popular açaí bowl. These berries are slightly larger than blueberries and grow in broom-shaped clusters on a palm tree native to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil.
Only around 5% of each berry is edible, but they are full of polyphenols, iron, vitamin E, unsaturated fatty acids, and other nutrients and antioxidants. In this way, they can be seen as a natural supplement.
